Tripura government makes it compulsory to wear face cover/ mask in public places

A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the nation said that hand made mask should be worn to avoid infection, a guideline was issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, (MHA) wherein it has been mentioned that wearing of face cover is compulsory in all public places and work places.

Accordingly, the Government of Tripura issued a notification where it has been mentioned that use of face cover/mask, whether homemade or others, help in breaking the transmission chain of COVID-19, and containment of the spread of the pandemic. Hence, as per the National Directives for COVID-19 Management issued by MHA use of face cover/mask will be compulsorily used in Governments/ PSUs/ Offices as well as in public places.

Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb in a tweet said: “It has been decided that wearing of face cover is compulsory in all public places as well as work places in order to break the transmission chain of COVID-19 & containment of the spread of this Pandemic.
Face cover/mask will be compulsorily used in Gov’t /PSUs as in public places.”
