A young lad from Manipur created history by becoming the youngest ever to clear Class 10 examination, the result of which was declared today.

12-year-old, Isaac Paulallungmuan Vaiphei is a student of Mount Olive School, Kangvai Churachandpur who has scripted history by becoming the youngest ever in the state to clear Class X examination with a 1st division under the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur. He scored 72% in the results declared today.

As per reports, the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM) allowed Issac to appear for the Manipur HSLC exam in 2020 and termed it a “special case” after his father wrote to the education department seeking permission late last year. Later he was permitted to sit for the examination by the BSEM, after the clinical psychology department of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal administered a psychology test on him

The permission has been granted considering the “mental age and superior IQ (Intelligent Quotient) level” of the child.

According to rules, a student appearing for the Manipur BSEM exam had to have completed 15 years of age as on April 1 of the year that he or she was to appear for the class 10 board exam. However, considering his mental age and IQ level he was allowed to appear for the board exam and came out with flying colours.
