Assam government has decided to pay for the cremation of people who die of COVID-19.

In a notification by Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Assam on Covid-19, two major decisions have been taken.

A. Upto Rs 5000 assistance will be provided towards cremation of succumbed Covid positive patients, if family or relatives do not claim the body or are unable to bear the cost.

B. In view of unlock 4 guidelines a person who travels outside Assam and returns within 96 hrs will not be put into 10-day quarantine subject to conditions in the attached order.
