Two persons were killed in Shillong after a landslide buried alive two persons engaged in clearing debris left by a mudslip at police reserve.
The deceased were identified as Sohibuton Marak and Silnang Marak.
According to the police, workers were sent to clear the debris after there was a landslide at the police reserve in the morning.
The State Disaster Relief Force, Fire and Emergency Services and police personnel later retrieved the bodies.
Meanwhile, there have been reports of landslides and uprooting of trees due to incessant rain for the past three days.
The Met department has warned of more rainfall in all districts of the State in the next 24 hours.
