Bornali Gogoi: First Woman from Assam becomes Wing Commander in IAF

Bornali Gogoi from Assam’s Lakhimpur District has been promoted as a wing commander in the Indian Air Force, IAF. Gogoi went on to become the first woman from Assam to join the forces as a wing commander.

As per reports, Gogoi joined the IAF as a pilot officer on May 27 in 1996. Later she was promoted to flying officer and flying lieutenant. Recently, she has been promoted as the wing commander of the IAF.

Gogoi did her engineering in electronics and telecommunication from Assam Engineering College becoming first class first.

Later, she also did her M.Tech from Birla Institute of Technology and Science.
