Assam Students to Receive Free Aadhaar Card

The Assam government is set to provide free Aadhaar Card to the students of Class 1 to Class 12.

The process of distribution of the Aadhaar card will start from today under the aegis of the Assam government and Sarba Siksha Mission.

Meanwhile, in Kamrup (Metro), the enrollment process will be carried out in 6 schools, 200 centers and 22 panchayat and has been launched at Kamrup Academy in Guwahati by Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu.

“People who still haven’t registered for Aadhaar card may do so in any of these centres. Along with students the parents can also avail the facility. The Aadhaar registration process is completely free, and if any payment is asked for, necessary action will be taken if the issue is brought to the notice of the administration,” said Biswajit Pegu.
