A woman from Assam’s Lakhimpur district is set to contest the local body polls in Kerala.

According to reports, Gogoi, who is contesting the local polls in Kannur in Kerala, is busy interacting with the locals to know about their various issues.

“The people in the panchayat have accepted me as their family, the locals have accepted me,” she told ANI.

She further stated that “PM Modi has made several schemes for us. Some of these schemes are not reaching to the poor families. I am contesting the election as a BJP candidate, to try and bring these schemes to my village.”
