The dry run of the Covid-19 vaccine commences from today in the four states of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat and Punjab.

The dry run of vaccination for Covid19 is for two days starting from December 28 in all four states. It is initiated as per Government plans to start the vaccination drive from January 2021.

The dry run is an effort by the government to identify and evaluate the process of vaccination.

As per reports, five sites have been identified in each district. The dry run will assess the ‘operational feasibility of using Co-Win application’ and identify challenges before the vaccine rollouts. Co-WIN is a mobile application that will virtually monitor the vaccination process.

The Centre’s end-to-end dry run for Covid-19 vaccination will also focus on the management of any possible adverse events following immunisation, cold storage and transportation arrangements, and crowd management at session sites with proper physical distance.

A total of 2,360 training sessions have been held so far, and 7,000 officials have been trained, including medical officers and vaccinators.
