Training Programme on Electric Vehicles for Greener Environment held in Tawang

Rapid urbanisation and rising pollution in India is putting pressure on finding solutions to tackle the pollution level and aging trasportation infrastructure.

Taking serious concern and to find a solution for sustainable development, A one day training programme to the Head of offices on Electric vehicles for cleaner,greener environment, star labelling,energy conservation and building code was conducted on Wednesday in the conference hall of DC office Tawang.

Mr.Kishan Khatri from Design 2occupancy services briefed the officers present on benefits of Electric vehicles,and National electric mobility mission plan 2013.

He informed that three states in North east, Assam,Meghalaya,and Sikkim have been approved by Government of India for installation of charging points to the electric vehicles.

Speaking on the benefits of Electric vehicles he said these vehicles are environment friendly causing zero emmission,more efficient in comparision to IC engine vehicles,due to its energy security and low fuel cost these vehicles will capture market in future.

He later briefed the officers on importance of star labelling in electrical appliances and Energy conservation building code. The training programme has been conducted in collaboration with Arunachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency,Tawang.
