Prime Minister Modi on the occasion of International Women’s Day took the opportunity to promote women-made products. He announced that he had bought a traditional Assamese Gamusa made by women self-help groups.
It is to be mentioned that Narendra Modi frequently makes public appearances with a Gamusa draped over his neck.
Further, the PM took to his Twitter handle and wrote, “You have seen me wear the Gamusa very often. It is extremely comfortable. Today, I bought a Gamusa made by various self-help groups of Kakatipapung Development Block.”
Along with the tweet, PM Modi also shared a URL of Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM), which have taken the intiative for the sale of such hand woven “Gamusas”.
