Sitting MLA of Hojai constituency from BJP, Shiladitya Dev, has been denied a party ticket to contest in the 2021 Assam polls.

The BJP on Wednesday declared three candidates for Assam’s Hailakandi, Sipajhar and Hojai. While BJP’s Milan Das to contest from Hailakandi and Paramanada Rajbongshi from Sipakhar, sitting MLA Shiladitya Dev would be replaced by Ramakrishna Ghosh as a candidate for the upcoming state poll.

With BJP leaving out Hojai constituency in Assam in the list of candidates announced for the 2021 assembly elections on March 5, Dev had expressed his apprehensions through a Facebook post.

Dev had taken to Facebook and wrote the famous lines by Rabindranath Tagore: “Jodi Tor Dak Shune Keu Na Ase Tobe Ekla Cholo Re (If no one responds to your call, then go your own way alone).”
