The Chief Electoral Officer, Assam, launched an awareness programme on Wednesday to spread electoral awareness among the people of the state.
The campaign, which will cover all the 50 election districts of the state, was launched simultaneously at Dhemaji, Nalbari, and Nazira and was attended by a huge number of people.
The campaign aims to make people aware of the nuances of the electoral process as well as to encourage them to come forward to cast their votes and be a part of this democratic process.
In Dhemaji, the campaign activities were carried out at Maridhal College, Dhemaji Girls’ College, Dhemaji College, in front of the circuit house, and at Jyestho Kunja Old Age Home.
In Nalbari, the activities were carried out t Nalbari College, Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University, Nalbari Ganesh Chowk, and Shanti Nibakh Old Age Home.
In Nazira, the campaign activities were carried out at Gargaon College, Nazira College, Balighat Tiniali, and Nazira Court Tiniali.
Several engaging activities were conducted in all the locations such as street play, interactive Q&A sessions, discussions, photo pledges etc.
This has been done primarily to connect more with the people and thereby spread across the message of electoral participation in a simple but engaging manner.
