“The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) are like brothers in arms and if we don’t contest together, then the Congress-AIUDF alliance will have an upper hand,” said Assam Health & Family Welfare (Minister of State) Pijush Hazarika in Raha on Sunday.
“The BJP-AGP alliance will stop the Congress-AIUDF juggernaut at any cost and we will make then bite the dust,” he said while taking part at an election meeting hosted jointly by the AGP and BJP.
“If the Congress-AIUDF grand alliance comes to power than Assam will lose everything,” he further said.
“The first phase of election in the Assam will be held on March 27 for 47 out of the 126 Assembly seats and we are confident that the BJP-AGP-UPPL alliance will be victorious in around 42 seats,” he said.
“I am confident that there will again be a BJP-led NDA government in the state,” he added.
It may be mentioned here that Bishnu Das of AGP is the NDA candidate from the Raha (SC) LAC and Hazarika, praising him lavishly, said, “Bishnu Das is a dedicated person and I am sure he will work hard for the development of the people of the constituency. All should vote for him and make him win convincingly.”
