Brigadier Digvijay Singh, Sm, Dig, Assam Rifles Sector along with Bangalore-based entrepreneurs and doctors MrGovindaraju, Dr. Mahesh Reddy, MrGururaj, MrShivanna, and MrVikramDiganto on 15 March 2021 visited an orphanage, ThutakNunpuitu Team at Aizawl, a voluntary organization at Aizawl.
About 500 children including specially-abled kids were staying in the orphanage. They had an interactive session with the workers in which ways and means of improving the infrastructure and habitat of the orphanage was discussed. A few essential commodities like ration, clothing, School bags and Masks were donated to them.
A cake-cutting ceremony was also organized by Assam Rifles and the same was distributed to all the children. Needless to say about the joy-filled faces all around.
Changing lives of the impoverished has been one of the prime focus of the Assam Rifles and such initiatives is set to bring a new dawn in the local community.
