Waste to Energy Plant located at Lamdeng in West Imphal was inaugurated through video conferencing on March 24.
Taking to the social media handle, Manipur CM wrote, “Development and progress of any country or state primarily rely on energy position. Glad to have inaugurated Waste to Energy Plant located at Lamdeng, Imphal West through video conferencing. Now, we have a plant that generates energy from municipal waste materials. Congratulations to my people and all the officials involved in making it a reality in our State.”
He mentioned that the Power plant would be producing 600KW of electricity in the first phase.
The government has successfully done the trial of the power plant and approval from the Government of India is awaited and will also set up a mini Solid Waste Management Plant nearby so that more waste can be treated and use resourcefully.
