The Officer of Kamrup (M) District has issued a circulation announcing Dry-Day of all ‘ON/‘OFF’/Club licenses and all the Country Spirit Shops of Kamrup (M) shall remain closed till 4:00 pm on Sunday(28th March).

This decision has been taken to maintain ‘public peace’ for the celebration of the Holi Festival in Guwahati.

“In exercising power conferred under section 52(1) of Assam Excise Act, 2000, the undersigned hereby declares that all the retail IMFL ‘ON’/’OFF’/ Club licenses and all the country Spirit shops of Kamrup Metropolitan District will remain closed till 4 P.M. on 28th March, 2021 for the preservation of Public peace in the view of the ”Holi Festival”.

Any violation of the above will be viewed seriously,” stated a press release issued by the Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup Metropolitan District.
