IndiGo, India’s low-cost carrier, has started the expansion of its network in the northeastern region.
The IndiGo ATR flight (No. 6E 7957/7943) started its operation on Monday, March 29, from Shillong to Silchar and back.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) took to Twitter to extend their support, they wrote, “IndiGo6E introduces new @ATRaircraft Flight no. 6E 7957/7943 from #Shillong to #Silchar & back from 29.03.2021. #AAI #SilcharAirport extended all necessary support for the smooth operation of the flight.”

Announcing this, the Union Civil Aviation Ministry wrote on its Twitter handle, “In yet another milestone for India @ 75, @IndiGo6E commences flight operations from Shillong to Silchar under #UDAN. This takes the total number of operationalized UDAN routes to 345. Many more to go!”
