After the Model Code of Conduct came into force on 26th February in view of the ongoing General Election to the Assam Legislative Assembly, cash and other valuables worth Rs. 110.83 crores have been seized till date.
These cash, valuables and illegally transported liquor were seized from various parts of the state in search operations carried out by Assam Police, Flying Squads, Static Surveillance Team, Excise and other enforcement and regulatory agencies of the state.
Till now, seizure of drugs and narcotics worth Rs. 34.29 crores, more than 16.61 lakh litres of liquor worth Rs. 33.44 crores, cash amounting Rs. 24.50 crores, gold, silver jewelleries, gold bars worth Rs. 3.68 crores and freebies/other items worth Rs. 14.91 crores have been made.
On seizure operations carried out by Static Surveillance Team and Flying Squads, drugs worth Rs. 33.79 crore included- Heroin (4,226.81gm), Tablet (1,74,088 Nos.), Crystalline Methamphetamine (10.27 kg), Capsule (1,22,100 Nos.), Ganja ( 6,892.82 kg), Morphin (1000 gms) and Brown Sugar (252.85 gm).

Cigarettes of foreign origin: 8,71,800 nos. of stick
Poppy seed: 20197.6 kg
Black pepper: 31703 kg
Contraband tablets: 6,000
Arecanuts: 32482 kg
Cigarettes: 39800
Wildlife: 12 nos.
Vehicles: 3 no.
TMT Bars: 2.5 tons
Pan/Masala/Jarda: 3 container trucks
Foreign and Indian liquor: 168 bottles
Family essential kits (rice, dal, sugar, soap, edible oil, salt, tea) – 600 packets
So far, 50 FIR’s/police cases have been registered across the state related to expenditure violation and 5,234 FIR’s/police cases lodged related to excise law violation.
Regarding MCC violations reported online through cVigil app till 30th March, 1,272 cases have been registered and 908 cases have been found correct which were examined and disposed. Offline registered cases received in B9 format stands at 1,424 nos.
