Assam Election 2021: Himanta Biswa Promises 1 Lakh Jobs, Bullet Bikes to Youths in Barpeta

“A candidate had to bribe for an Anganwadi job during the Congress regime and the amount was around Rs 1,00,00,” alleged Assam heal, education, and finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday in Barpeta.

He was speaking at an election campaign rally taken out for Gunindra Nath- the AGP candidate from the constituency.

“The bribe amount for a candidate from char chaporis was Rs 2,00,00,” he further added.

“Once the BJP came to power in Assam, we have unearthed corruption and there is peace in the state,” he further said.

He further said that for the benefit and help of the cancer patients of the district, the BJP government is constructing a world-class cancer hospital in Barpeta.

“And once the construction is completed, people of the district and the nearby areas will no longer require to travel to Guwahati for treatment,” he added.

He also promised 1,00,000 jobs for a selected group of unemployed youths of the area within a year after the BJP comes to power.

“We promise to provide 1,00,000 jobs to a selective group of unemployed youths of the area and no one will have to pay a single penny for getting the jobs. We don’t believe in the bribe culture,” Sarma reiterated.

Speaking about a possible lockdown as COVID-19 cases continue to rise in the state, Sarma said, “There will no lockdown now and we will celebrate Bihu this time and dance to the songs of Zubeen Garg.”

“Yes, there will be a lockdown after the election results are declared and every congressman will place them under a lockdown,” Sarma further said.

He further emphasised empowering the financially weaker section of the society and said that BJP aimed to make this section stronger by providing them better opportunities.

“Our government has provided scooty to the meritorious girl students. We will provide Bullets to the boys this time,” he added.
