Will Declare Tamulpur as District on Independence Day: Himanta Biswa Sarma

Taking part at an election rally in Tamulpur on Wednesday while campaigning for UPPL candidate Lehoram Bodo, Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the BPF will be dusted in this election.

“The BPF is thinking of forming the government taking support from the Congress and the AIUDF. However, after May 2 the plough will become a museum showpiece and the tractor will travel to Dispur,” Sarma said while referring to the party symbols of BPF and UPPL respectively.

“We will have an AGP-BJP-UPPL-GSP alliance government in Assam this time. Hence, I urge you all to vote for the candidates of this alliance,” Sarma appealed.

He also promised 1 lakh jobs in 39 departments once the AGP-BJP-UPPL-GSP alliance government comes to power in the state.

He further announced that Tamulpur will be declared as a district on August 15 this year.
