The United Liberation Front of Asom—ULFA (Independent) has released two abducted employees of New Delhi-headquartered Quippo Oil and Gas Infrastructure Limited.

The banned outfit released one of the abducted staffers of the private oil firm, Pranab Kumar Gogoi near Longvi village of Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district.

Pranab Kumar Gogoi, drilling superintendent and Ram Kumar, a radio operator with the oil company were abducted on December 21 from the company’s Kumchaikha hydrocarbon drilling site in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district.

While Pranab Gogoi hails from the Sivasagar district of Assam, Ram Kumar is from Bihar.

According to reports, the two employees of the private oil farm are currently in Arunachal Pradesh. They are likely to reach Assam very soon.

Meanwhile, an official said insurgents who had kidnapped the two had made it clear earlier that they would be released at separate locations. A Quippo official, however, said Ram Kumar is likely to be released today. “He is on his way.”
