Kaliabor MP Gaurav Gogoi on Sunday expressed confidence that the Congress-led grand alliance will form government in Assam this time.
Campaigning for Chaygaon MLA and Congress candidate Rekibuddin Ahmed, Gogoi said that the BJP in Assam will be raged to the ground in the third and final phase of the Assam election 2021.
“Just like in the first and the second phase, BJP will bite the dust in the third and final phase of the election,” Gogoi said.
“We lost five young souls during the anti-CAA protests in Assam. To keep their legacy alive and in respect to their supreme sacrifice, we will never allow the implementation of CAA in Assam,” he added.
“Grand alliance will win in over 100 seats and we will form a strong and powerful government in the state,” Gogoi claimed.
“The five guarantees mentioned in our manifesto will be fulfilled word-by-word,” Gogoi reiterated.
The election campaign rally was also attended by Mariani MP Rupjyoti Karmi.
He also urged the people to vote for the grand alliance if one has to protect the linguistic and cultural identity of Assam.
It may be mentioned here that the Chaygaon assembly constituency in 2016 had a total of 1,60,183 registered voters.
In 2016, Ahmed received 72,211 votes and had a tight contest with AGP’s Dr Kamala Kalita who received 64,390 votes.
