Mizoram Receives 150 Oxygen Concentrators From WHO

Mizoram received a set of 150 Oxygen Concentrators on May 22, which have been donated to the state government by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

WHO, India Surveillance Medical Officer Dr Lalhlimpuii handed over the concentrators to the Mizoram Health Minister Dr R Lalthangliana

“The state received the aid with a warm heart as oxygen concentrators will help save many lives in the current trying time,” said Dr Lalthangliana.

Meanwhile, another set of shipment for the state is expected to arrive from Kuwait soon.

State health officials have further informed that Mizoram has already attained aids from several countries till now.

“Medical aids from several foreign countries have been coming for Mizoram. The state has already received 100 oxygen concentrators from Switzerland, 60 from Ireland. The United Kingdom provided 50 oxygen concentrators and 15 concentrators were received from Taiwan. Egypt has also donated 50 Oxygen Cylinder D Type and 50 Oxygen Regulator, 5000 Oxygen Nasal Cannula and 100 adaptors to Mizoram,” stated health officials.

Besides, the Japanese government has also sent oxygen concentrators for the state in due partnership with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
