An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 on the Richter scale hit Tezpur in Assam on May 30 afternoon at around 2.23 pm, said the National Center for Seismology (NCS).
“Earthquake of Magnitude:4.1, Occurred on 30-05-2021, 14:23:06 IST, Lat: 26.69 & Long: 92.39, Depth: 16 Km, Location: 40km W of Tezpur, Assam,” the NCS tweeted informing about the earthquake.

Till the filing of this report, no casualties were reported.
It may be mentioned here that an earthquake of magnitude 6.4 had struck Assam on April 28 morning and strong tremors were felt in parts of the northeast as well as north Bengal.
Around 90 earthquakes have been reported in the state since then.
