3.8 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Tezpur In Assam

An earthquake of magnitude 3.8 on the Richter scale hit Tezpur in Assam on May 31 afternoon at around 9.50 pm, said the National Center for Seismology (NCS).

“Earthquake of Magnitude:3.8, Occurred on 31-05-2021, 09:50:50 IST, Lat: 26.69 & Long: 92.35, Depth: 24 Km, Location: 44km W of Tezpur, Assam, India for more information Download the BhooKamp App,”  the NCS tweeted informing about the earthquake.

Till the filing of this report, no casualties were reported.

This is the second earthquake to jolt Assam within 24 hours.

An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 on the Richter scale hit Tezpur in Assam on May 30 afternoon at around 2.23 pm.

It may be mentioned here that an earthquake of magnitude 6.4 had struck Assam on April 28 morning and strong tremors were felt in parts of the northeast as well as north Bengal.
