Recently, two pregnant women infected with COVID-19 has successfully delivered healthy babies at Ukhrul District Hospital.
According to the Medical Superintendent of Ukhrul District Hospital, Dr. Reisangmi Raikhan, the two COVID-19 positive pregnant women delivered healthy babies at the COVID Maternity & Labour Room led by Dr Yaruiyam Mahongnao and Dr Michael Kodah, who were assisted by staff nurses Tharshem Lungleng and Wonshangla Jajo.
Further mentioning, the hospital does not have any such facilities to successfully deliver a COVID-19 positive pregnant women.
According to Frontier Manipur report, both the women referred by private hospitals at Ukhrul has been identified as – Ngalawon Luikham, and Ramyophy.
Ngalawon Luikham, aged 27-yr-old delivered a healthy male baby at 1.18 pm of 3.5 kgs by vacuum assisted Vaginal Delivery (VD) with Right Mediolateral Episiotomy (RMLE).
Meanwhile, Ramyophy, 26 years delivered a healthy female baby at 3:19 pm by Natural Vaginal Delivery (NVD).
