Manipur journalist Kishorchandra Wangkhem, who was released from jail on 23rd July 2021 has informed that he is planning to move to the Supreme Court for scrapping the National Security Act (NSA).
He said that he will talk to his lawyers and see if he can move the Supreme Court against the NSA just as he had done against the sedition law, he told reporters in Imphal after his release from jail on Friday.
The Manipur High Court on Friday ordered the release of Wangkhem.
Speaking to the media after his release he mentioned that he was targeted for investigating a story related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He claimed COVID-19 cases had surged in Manipur after the return of nearly 200-250 people from the Kumbh Mela in Haridwar.
He said that the government probably got a clue of what he was trying to do and put him in jail to make sure that he could not reveal his findings.
