Recently, on the occasion of the World Hepatitis Day, the Manipur CM, N. Biren Singh has launched the Hepatitis B treatment in the state. The programme was held under the 2021 theme, “Hepatitis Can’t Wait”.
He further stated that treatment will be made available to all the residents, free of cost at Model Treatment Centres in the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) & the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS).
During the inauguration programme, the CM also distributed medical equipments to the District hospitals.
The items distributed during the event were – 10 mobile X-Ray machine, and 20 multi-para monitors which will be utilised in the Intensive Care Units (ICUs) of District Hospitals.
Singh asserted the citizens for their immense co-operation, and unitedly work towards spreading awareness on prevention of the deadly disease & save precious lives.
World Hepatitis Day is observed each year on 28 July to raise awareness of viral hepatitis, an inflammation of the liver that causes severe liver disease and hepatocellular cancer.
