Assam CM Asks Its Police To Withdraw FIR Against K Vanlalvena

Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma directed Assam Police to lift the FIR against Mizoram’s MP K Vanlalvena. The Chief Minister on Monday said that the decision was taken as a sign of goodwill after the border conflict between Assam and Mizoram. On the contrary, cases against the police cops of Mizoram will continue.

“I have received a statement in the media that Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga is interested in settlement of border disputes. Assam always wants to keep the northeast vibrant. We want to maintain peace on our borders as well.” Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma made the remarks in a tweet.

In another tweet, Chief Minister Sharma said, “To take this goodwill forward, I have asked Assam police to take forward the philosophy of this goodwill by Mizoram Rajya Sabha MP K Vanlalvena. We have given an order to lift up the case filed against the K Vanlalvena.
