Assam Officials Allegedly Evict Tea Garden In Kimin, Arunachal

The All Papum Pare District Border Association visited the Lora Village in Kimin on July 31 to assess the stretch of tea garden allegedly destroyed by Assam Forest Officials.

Tarh Tagung, general secretary, APPDBSU  speaking to the media said “On January 30 some battalions from Assam visited and destroyed the tea gardens of the locals.”

He expressed his dissatisfaction that media outlets in Assam are showing that the tea garden was set in Assam.

“We at APPDBSU condemn such reports” adding that whatever eviction has taken place has happened within Arunachal Pradesh.

After the incident Arunachal Pradesh police officials in the area to look into the matter.

Recently Chief Ministers of both the states had announced that Assam- Arunachal border issues will be settled amicably and out of court.
