Arunachal Pradesh : PHED Organises Skill Training Programme Under ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’

On Monday, Aug 2, the Yuva Arunachal, in collaboration with the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Bomdila Division organized a skill training programme on the theme ‘Mason Training’ under Jal Jeevan Mission.

The programme was held at School Auditorium of Government Higher Secondary School, Bomdila.

Sponsored by the Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, the initiative termed, ‘Har Ghar Jal’ is expected to play an important role among the unemployed youths, in regard to earning a sustainable living.

The programme was inaugurated by Sang Kandu, Assistant Deputy Commissioner (HQ) Bomdila as Chief Guest, and Engineer Niabung Konia, EE PHED Bomdila Division as Guest of Honour.

Besides, guests and trainees were welcomed by the Secretary West Kameng Unit of Yuva Arunachal Shri Leda Merakpa.

A total of 30 trainees participated in the programme from Sera, Pedung, Wanghoo and Dikhiang village and from Bomdila Township.

The Mason Trainer Er. M Basar assisted the 1st batch of trainees theoretically and practically by demonstrating the equipments and tools.

ADC Bomdila Shri Sang Khandu encouraged all trainees to take up the skill training in practical to earn a living.

He also thanked the departments of Skill Development, PHED and Yuva Arunachal for imparting such training among the unemployed youths for self sustainability.

Furthermore, the 2nd training was held on plumbering by the resource person from department of PHED Division, Bomdila.

Leda Merakpa also mentioned that two more Mason trainings of 30 batch each will be organised in other parts of West Kameng District in the next two weeks.

‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ implements source sustainability measures, thereby envisioning to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections by 2024 to all households in rural India.

It is based on a community approach to water, hereby including an extensive Information, Education, and Communication as a key component of the mission.
