On Tuesday July 3, the Manipur Government has extended curfew in seven districts of the state for another four days, till August 7.
The decision has been taken after witnessing an upsurge in the cases of COVID-19 in the said districts. Curfew extended in 7 districts include – Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Churachandpur and Chandel district.
Furthermore, activities permitted in the previous state government orders on July 19 and July 27 will continue to be permitted during the curfew.
Similarly, night curfew will be imposed from 6 PM-5 AM for other nine districts. These include – Pherzawl, Kamjong, Ukhrul, Jiribam, Kangpokpi, Senapati, Noney, Tamenglong and Tengnoupal.
Religious rituals can be performed these 9 districts amid open sheds by restricting the number of invitees to 20.
Meanwhile, health departments have been ordered to scale up vaccination, contract tracing, and testing in the state.
