Five-member MLAs delegation of IPFT on Thursday met with the chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb in the secretariat and discussed various issues to strengthen the relations between both the ruling parties.

The meeting which continued for long hours was attended by five MLAs including Prem Kumar Reang, Dhananjoy Tripura, Prasant Debbarma, Dhirendra Debbarma and Sindhu Chandra Jamatia.

However, surprisingly the IPFT supremo and revenue minister NC Debbarma and general secretary and forest minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia were not present during the meeting which has raised questions on the relationship between the senior leaders.

Chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb took to twitter and informed that he had a meaningful discussion with the alliance partners.

“Had a meaningful discussion with our alliance partner IPFT MLAs and instructed them to ensure development and welfare of Indigenous community. Discussed the strategies for development of rural economy, which will pave the way for indigenous start-ups and new job opportunities,” he wrote.

Even though the BJP party office claims that the relationship with the alliance partner is good, it is clear that the emergence of TIPRA Motha as strong contender in the ADC to some extent has distanced the two alliance partners as BJP may tie poll-alliance with them in the next elections.

It is worthy to mention that the IPFT senior leaders Mevar Kumar Jamatia on Tuesday met with the NEDA chairman Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma to discuss the state politics and other issues.
