Recently, Team India has portrayed a great season during the GAMMA Asian Championships 2021, by bagging a string of medals.
The contingents has bagged a total piling up of 22 medals including four gold medals, standing only third behind Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
Recently, Manipur’s Dinesh Naorem secured a Gold Medal and a Silver Medal at the GAMMA Asian MMA Championships 2021.
Dinesh competed in the 56.7 KG category at the event in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and Striking Mixed Martial Arts (Striking MMA) disciplines.
In the Striking MMA discipline, he secured the silver medal after suffering a close loss to Yermakhan Oryntayev of Kazakhstan.
Furthermore, 3 Nagaland MMA fighters have too bagged the medals, striking the tally. These fighters include – Kekhrieneitso Angami (70.3 kg), Longtsukumba Ao (77.1 kg), and Arsenba Ozukum (56.7 kg).
Longtsukumba Ao put together an excellent performance against Yazan Jaber of Palestine in a three-round affair but fell short on the judges card as the decision was ruled in favor of Jaber, thereby settling for silver.
Meanwhile, Angami conceded defeat to Nurtaza lumakhanova of Kazhalchstan in the final bout, thereby settling for silver.
Besides, Ozukum was defeated in his semi-final bout to Dinesh Naorem, from Manipur, India.
