Manipur : Ongoing Railway Projects Will Be Completed By Mid 2023, Claims MoS Railways

Recently, the Union Minister of State (MoS) for Railways, Coal and Mines, Raosaheb Patil Danve inspected the railway tunnel drilling work at Tunnel number 12 at Sangaithel village, Imphal West.

The inspection drive was also accompanied by officials from Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR).

Speaking to media, Danve stated that railway projects have slightly been delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic and issues in land acquisition.

He further clarified that there is no shortage of funds for the ongoing Railway projects in Manipur.

Danve also assured that the ongoing Railway projects will be completed by mid 2023.

He maintained that the main purpose of his visit to the State is to inspect the current status of the ongoing Jiribam-Imphal Railway project.

It is pertinent to mention here that Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, earlier stated that State Government is looking forward to complete the Jiribam-Khongsang railway line by December 2021.

He further assured that all disputes related to land compensation, and other reasons would be resolved soon.

He has also reviewed various project sites of the ongoing Jiribam-Imphal new BG Railway Line Project.
