Recently, the Meghalaya Chief Minister N. Conrad Sangma asserted that National People’s Party (NPP) will contest most of the seats in Manipur Assembly Elections which will be held in 2022.
The CM recently arrived in the state capital, Imphal where he met several party members to discuss about various matters related to the upcoming 2022 state general election.
Sangma further asserted that assembly election is very crucial for NPP.
This assembly elections will help the party to emerge as a stronger political force in the northeast, he stated.
“The party has grown in strength over the past few years. To ensure it is well-organised and ready for the election, we had a meeting with the state committee. NPP has formed a new unit of the youth wing and many leaders from different constituencies have joined. And we are expecting more will join the party in the days to come,” Sangma further added.
Although there are over 30 individuals from different constituencies have shown their interest to contest for the election as NPP candidates. But the final tally of these candidates will be decided later.
