The COVID-19 pandemic which is continually testing the resilience of people across the globe has brought together unified communities to support the folks.
Similarly, unified body of Tangkhul citizens in America named by ‘Tangkhul Long USA’ has extended support to families of 55 Covid-19 victims of Ukhrul and Kamjong District.
Tangkhul community residing in different parts of the United States of America (USA) have contributed in different capacities to support the residents of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts.
Accordingly, the community have decided to extend financial assistance, thereby raising funds amounting to 6,30,344 lakh rupees.
This will be used to distribute assistance to COVID-19 affected families of the two districts.
Besides, 55 affected families from the districts have already received Rs. 5000 each during a recent programme held at Ukhrul District Hospital.
The Tangkhul Long USA also contributed Rs. 80,000 each to All Tangkhul Medicos Association (ATMA), and COVID Care Centre Ukhrul.
While, an amount of Rs. 25,000 have been contributed towards COVID Care Centre Kamjong.
The organization has also utilized Rs. 1,70,344 for education grant and livelihood, as implemented by MNM foundation.
