Rajya Sabha Polls : Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal Files Nomination From Assam

On Tuesday, September 21, the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal has filed his nomination from Assam for the Rajya Sabha by-polls, scheduled to be held on October 4.

The Minister was accompanied by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, State BJP President Bhabesh Kalita, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) President Atul Bora, Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro.

It is pertinent to note that Sonowal has been nominated by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after to fill the seat left vacant after resignation of BJP member Biswajit Daimary, the current Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly.

He thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda for providing him the chance to represent the state in Parliament, thereby contributing to the nation’s development.

Furthermore, he added of working hard to fulfill all aspirations of the citizens.
