On Saturday, October 2, the Indian National Congress (INC) President, Sonia Gandhi has selected the Mizoram candidate to contest into the Assembly by-elections, to be held in October 2021.
According to a press release, Chalrosangte Ralte has been selected as the Congress candidate to contest into the elections from the constituency Tuirial-ST.
Signed by the General Secretary & Incharge of Central Election Committee (CEC), Mukul Wasnik, the press release also mentions about the Telangana candidate, Balmoori Venkat Narsing Rao who has been selected to contest into the elections from the constituency Huzurabad.
It is pertinent to note that, on September 28, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the dates to hold by-elections in Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies of various states, including Mizoram.
The Assembly by-elections for Mizoram will be conducted during the first schedule. According to ECI, the Polling Date for Mizoram has been scheduled for October 30.
