In a meeting held between the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Nagaland counterpart Neiphiu Rio, “political issues” and inter-state border disputes. Were discussed.

According to sources, the chief minister during the meeting discussed various developmental issues on current  negotiation between the centre and the major Naga rebel group NSCN-IM.

Meanwhile, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has assigned both of them with confidence to find a permanent solution for the ‘Naga political problem’.

It may be mentioned that, the peace talks with NSCN-IM have been on a pause as the rebel group has been consistent on its demand for the Naga flag and constitution.

The formal Indo-Naga Talks began with AK Mishra, who resumed with the new interlocutor, former special director after a gap of nearly two years on September 20, 2020.

It may be mentioned that, the talks had attracted much hype for the long time Naga solution. It is said to be near the corner and likely would come as a Christmas gift to the Nagas.

Meanwhile, a major delegation of NSCN-IM including chief negotiator Th. Muivah, Chairman Q. Tuccu, Vice Chairman Tongmeth Wangnao and others were in the national capital since the first week of October.
