Amid high political tensions brewing in the northeastern state of Tripura between the supporters of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Trinamool Congress (TMC), an abandoned bag has been found near the Maharaja Bir Bikram airport in Agartala on Monday morning.

This major development took place just moments ahead the arrival of TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee’s visit to the state capital.

After reports of this suspicious bag found at the Agartala Airport surfaced, the Bomb Disposal Squad and Airport security immediately rushed to the spot.

However, no explosive devices have been found along the region and security forces have cordoned-off the airport to prevent any further conflicts.

It’s worthy to note that violence reports and the arrest of TMC youth president Shayoni Ghosh on attempt to murder charges have prompted Abhishek Banerjee to visit the state, who landed at 10:15 AM.
