Clamour on scams associated with the Staff Selection Board examinations, and its functioning have been a serious concern for the aspirants across the nation. Paper leak scam, unwanted delays in publishing results, question paper leaks has been continuing unabated since years. However, the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh which have also suffered its worst outcomes have totally turned-out the functioning of its SSB examinations.
According to Hindu report, in February 2020, the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) examinations have suffered due to the cash-for-job-scam for filling-up the post of lower division clerk.
Since then, educational authorities in order to ensure effective functioning of APSSB, results for few examinations of Government posts were released within 48 hours of examination.
Its worth noting that results of such government-based examinations across the nation took at least 5 years.
Based on Optical Mark Recognition (OMR), the evaluation for APSSB results were released in no-time through fast scanner examinations, informed the Secretary-cum-Controller of APSSB Santosh Kumar.
“The entire process is video recorded for transparency. Besides, officers from outside the APSSB are appointed as observers for processing the result,” – he said to The Hindu.
“The APSSB went on to create a record by completing the entire cycle of combined graduate level exam within 100 days, including the advertisement issued in June. The skill test was held on September 9 and the final result was declared the following day.” – informed the Hindu report.
The Secretary-cum-controller of APSSB during his interview with the english daily mentioned that the concerned Staff Selection Board examinations ensures that aspirants don’t lose their faith on the authorities & its functions.
Soon after, the news of aforementioned cash-in-job scam surfaced online, the 2014-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from Bihar’s Samastipur was entrusted with constituting a board to look after such matters.
This board ensured that the cycle of effective initiation of examinations keep on continuing for decades.
