Manipur : ‘Harness Talents For Bringing Inclusive Development’; Asserts CM Singh

Promoting and sustaining inclusive growth is a pre-condition for economic development & enhancing individual well-being. In an attempt to boost this growth, realizing one’s talents should be of utmost priority, informed the Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh.

Asserting on the talents prevailing among the people of Manipur, Singh mentioned “people of the state are filled with enormous talents and they need to harness the talent to bring inclusive development in the state.”

Addressing the gathering during closing session of the “Two Day Discourse on the Present Status of Manipur Economy: Opportunities and Challenges” held on Tuesday at Manipur University, CM Singh stated that although Manipur is a tiny northeastern state, but concerned efforts has topped it in Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) business registration among the small States of the Country.

“Over 1 lakh individuals are being employed in the MSME sector,” – added the CM.

He further maintained that the Self-Help Groups (SHGs) of hill districts are expanding their businesses under Tribal Co-operative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED).

Meanwhile, this expansion has led in providing employment opportunities to around 40,000 people under the Van Dhan Vikas Karyakram of TRIFED.

Emphasizing further on the self-reliant scheme, CM Singh informed that state government has implemented various welfare schemes for achieving self-reliance in various sectors such as fishery and others.

He mentioned that visible positive development has been witnessed across the northeastern state, in the last four and half years.
