In a major operation against drug menace, the Assam Police today apprehended three suspected drug peddlers from Jagiroad in Assam’s Morigaon district.
These three offenders have been identified as – Basheer Khan and Altaf Khan, residents of Manipur. While, Jahirul is a resident of Guwahati.
Based on specific inputs, the Jagiroad police officials launched a search operation across the region and recovered a huge quantity of suspected drugs from the accused.
During the search operation, the security forces have recovered Heroin worth about Rs 5 crores.
Meanwhile, the officials have also confiscated two trucks bearing registration numbers – NL 01 K 9543 and NL 01 N 5480, while they also seized an auto van bearing registration number AS 01 KC 5660.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
