Arunachal Pradesh : Large Stash Of Narcotic Substances Confiscated From Namsai; 1 Held

In a major operation against drug menace, the anti-drug squad (ADS) has apprehended a narcotics peddler and confiscated a large stash of contraband substances, cash from her possession on Thursday.

Based on specific inputs, the squad conducted a raid at the offenders house.

Identified as Onthu Manchey, the accused is a resident of Mukron hamlet in Namsai district.

The security forces have recovered “one small-sized Liver-52 plastic container, containing white and orange colour powdery substance, suspected to be contraband substance, weighing approximately five grams (excluding 2.46 grams weight of the empty container), along with cash amount of Rs 33,430 of various denominations,” – informed the Namsai Superintendent of Police (SP) – DW Thongon.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered under the Narcotics Drugs & Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Namsai Police Station, for initiating further investigation into the matter.
