The award-winning social entrepreneur & motivational speaker – Mark Laitflang Stone from Meghalaya, has been nominated to attend the Australia India Youth Dialogue (AIYD) 2022, slated to be held at Australia’s Sydney and Melbourne from May 31 to June 4.
The founder & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Meghalaya-based pioneering life coaching and personal excellence training social enterprise – AVENUES; Mark has become the first person from the northeastern state to attend the conference. He is also the lone representative from Northeast India to attend the conference this year.
Mark, alongside 14 other Indian delegates will attend the international conference.

The Australia India Youth Dialogue (AIYD) is the pre-eminent track-two young leaders’ dialogue between Australia and India. It is an annual conference that brings together 15 of the best and brightest young minds from India & Australia.
It enables a rich exchange of ideas between emerging leaders to think creatively about how the Australia-India relationship may be strengthened through their own work and efforts.
Its worthy to note that Mark is the recipient of the inaugural Leaders Connect’s ‘Northeast Young Heroes Award for Education 2020′ and the ‘AsiaOne Asian Youth Empowerment Leader Award 2021′.
From dropping out of high school and selling flowers at 16 to coaching audiences in India, Europe and South East Asia through human experiences that he calls “Pockets of Happiness”, Mark’s own story of courage and resilience is deeply moving.
The social entrepreneur has been leading high-impact, benchmarking businesses and teams in Hospitality Services, Skills Development, Events, IT, Telecom, and Consulting, since he was 17 years old.
At the age of 20, he founded AVENUES which leads a committed team of young life coaches, deliberating meaningful interventions in soft skills, leadership, capacity building, life coaching and personal development have touched the lives of over 1,00,000 young people across Northeast India.
AVENUES’ flagship programmes are working towards augmenting formal education structures with life coaching efforts, significantly improving the quality of life and careers for tribal youth.
An internationally sought-after Keynote and Impact Speaker, Mark’s coaching initiatives have led him to address audiences throughout India, Switzerland, Thailand and Brunei.
