The Assam Police today apprehended an offender for allegedly raping a minor in Kokrajhar District.
Identified as – Amir Hamja, the accused is a resident of Salakati Bazar Majidpara in Kokrajhar.
According to reports, the accused sexually assaulted the minor girl who belonged to the tribal community. Meanwhile, the offender took pictures of the heinous crime and shared them on social media.
However, a case has been registered at the Kokrajhar Police Station under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Further, interrogation into the matter is underway.
