The Manipur Chief Minister – N. Biren Singh on Tuesday extended a reward of Rs 10 lakhs to the Kangpokpi District Police, for successfully confiscating a massive stash of narcotics worth over Rs 58 crores from two separate operations.
According to official update, the Kanpokpi District Police have seized 4.271 kg of Heroin worth about Rs 58.95 crores in international market, during the month of May and June.
In recognition of this major seizure under War-On-Drugs 2.0, which have boosted the morale of the entire police force; the state government extended the reward to the security forces.
“I’m proud of the exceptional work done by the Manipur police in other districts as well. They will also be rewarded accordingly.” – he further added.
Taking to social media platforms, the Manipur CM wrote “In two separate successful major seizures under War on Drugs 2.0, the Kangpokpi District police have seized 4.271 kg of Heroin worth about Rs 58.95 Crores in international market. In recognition of this major seizure which have boosted the morale of the entire police force, the State govt has extended a reward of are 10 lakh to the Kangpokpi District Police. I’m proud of the exceptional work done by the Manipur police in other districts as well. They will also be rewarded accordingly.”
