In a major crackdown against drug menace, the security forces have confiscated a massive stockpile of heroin worth over Rs 1 Crores from the possession of a woman travelling on a train along Assam’s Karbi Anglong District on Tuesday.
During routine checking on the Lumding-Tinsukia passenger train near Bokajan area, the railway police have recovered 232 grams of heroin, concealed in 20 soap boxes.
Meanwhile, the security forces have apprehended the woman who was travelling in the compartment for disabled persons. The offender is claimed to be a resident of a tea garden region at Tinsukia.
A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
