The northeastern state of Assam has reported 755 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total caseload to 7,31,662, while three new fatalities pushed the death toll to 6,654.
According to the National Health Mission (NHM) bulletin, one death each was reported from Cachar, Kamrup Metropolitan and Udalguri districts.
The number of active cases currently stands at 4,858. Baksa district reported the highest new cases at 64, followed by Goalpara with 63 and Kamrup Metropolitan and Dibrugarh 60 cases each. Besides, the daily positivity rate rose to 10.60 per cent.
A total of 303 people recuperated from the disease on Tuesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 7,18,798. The COVID-19 recovery rate is now 98.24 per cent.
Altogether 2,84,55,610 samples have so far been tested for COVID-19 in the state. While, 4,74,11,258 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the state to eligible beneficiaries till now.
